Ooh, a potential foster? Sweet!
So you've decided to enter the exciting world of fostering a kitty! We'll we'd be VERY happy to start screening you to be a foster. It is more rewarding than you can imagine! Here's how this will go.
Step 1: You send us an email (mewcrew at gmail dot com) or call us (240-389-4MEW). You can always find our contact info here.
Step 2: The screening process is now underway. We'll have a phone interview where we'll chat about cats, you and your level of commitment. And if you let us know that you're up for more of a commitment, we may also ask you about fostering a TLC kitty. A TLC kitty is one that may need certain nutritional requirements, vitamins, medicines, individualized attention, etc.
Step 3: We will then have a small coronation ceremony that probably involves cake where we place a Mew or two in your temporary care. The length of your fostering is up to you. You'll be responsible for taking care of this animal just as if it was your own.
Although it's not a requirement to take two, we prefer our guys to go in a pair so they can give each other comfort and company. This will actually make sure your job as a foster easier. You also will be able to screen potential candidates to adopt the kitty if you wish. I mean what if someone you know just happens to come over and really fall in love with those kitties? Finding these guys their forever home is what it's all about right?
Trust us, you will probably get attached because they are some of the most awesome cats ever. And if you really fall in love with one of the Mews and want to keep em, then we can discuss that, too. But when you see that there is a new loving home waiting for them? The parting of you and your foster kitty will be bittersweet, but so worth it in the end.
